Microsoft Teams is the hub for teamwork within Microsoft 365. From Meetings, calling, and chat, to content collaboration, apps, and workflows, users are fast becoming accustomed to the productivity Teams provides. Rapid adoption means many are needing to address Microsoft Teams governance retrospectively.

According to new global research from Digital Intelligence company ABBYY, 6-in-10 (61%) employees say their job is made more difficult through trouble accessing data in documents and nearly a quarter (24%) lose a full day of productivity per week searching documents for information they need to serve customers.

An employee at MacEwan University got an email in 2017 from someone claiming to be a construction contractor asking to change the account number where almost $12 million in payments were sent. A week later the actual contractor called asking when the payment would arrive. The email about the account number change was fake. Instead of going to the contractor, the payments were sent to accounts controlled by criminals.

The COVID crisis appears to be turning the corner, but many will remain working from home for the foreseeable future. Getting users to be records-compliant is difficult enough at the best of times, but working remotely adds even more challenges with maintaining daily records of transactions including new documents, file notes, record of phone conversation and phone meetings.
