ISYS File Readers offer OEM solution
March 26, 2009:ISYS Search Software has announced the release of ISYS File Readers, an embeddable set of document filters for extracting text and metadata from more than 200 ISYS-supported document, container and email formats.
Backed by 20 years of innovation and adopted by more than 14,000 customer organizations worldwide, ISYS File Readers deliver a critical component to a variety of information management applications, including data mining, forensic analysis, ediscovery and search deployments powered by open-source search engines such as Apache Lucene.
ISYS File Readers offer OEMs, ISVs and information management specialists capabilities comparable to the functionality found in Oracle’s Outside In and Autonomy’s KeyView products. With support for more than 60 languages, ISYS File Readers ship with full samples and are callable from a variety of programming languages, including C++, C#, Java andVB.NET. The company claims customers can be up and running with a fully functioning proof of concept in just 20 lines of code.
“Until now, the market for document filters was limited to a handful of open-source readers and just two commercial options,” said Scott Coles, CEO, ISYS Search Software.
“Our ISYS File Readers application changes the game completely, providing customers with a powerful, proven alternative that can be deployed in a matter of days. And given the rapid rise in the commercial adoption of Lucene, we see tremendous opportunity for ISYS File Readers as a key component to these open-source search deployments.”
